HDR Madness

Been out with the camera and the new 50mm lens this last week but ended up shooting raw hdr shots with my 17-40 wide boy , its all a bit mad but sometimes you just have to break out into silly mode ..

This is a plain 3 shot HDR edited in a peice of FREE lol software called Oleneo which is really very good ... download it now and give it a go

HDR is High Dynamic Range , and in essence is a method of capturing all the detail in a shot that the camera cant normally get , sometimes you will take a shot and your foreground is too dark or the sky is too dark and its hard to get a balance , by having three shots one where the sky is right , one where the middle is right and one where the foreground is right and combining them you can get much closer to what the human eye can actually see..

To take a shot/s like this normally requires a tripod and to take three shots in a row one underexposed one in the middle and one over exposed , the method of doing this differs with different cameras and can range of exposure compensation , to actual HDR modes on some new SLRs

Planning on a little bit of urbex or photography this week or very soon , so more pics to come , before the wedding season gets truly underway again
